Amanda Kabagambe is a Partner and Head of East Africa for TLG Capital. She is also the Chairperson of the Uganda Chapter and a Member Board of Directors of the East Africa Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (EAVCA).

Amanda is a Transaction Advisor and Management Consultant with over 14 years of experience providing cross-cutting advisory services to increase access to growth capital, solve business issues, and increase productivity, and competitiveness of organisations. She has worked in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and the United Kingdom.

She has extensive experience working with East African SMEs and has structured and arranged over USD150 million of direct investments.  She serves as the Chairperson for the East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) Uganda chapter steering committee, a Board member, and a member of the advocacy committee for EAVCA.

Amanda has served as an advisor to regional investment funds, providing analysis to inform investment decisions and go-to-market strategies and delivering post-investment support. Her advisory portfolio also includes the World Bank, the Government of Uganda and regional DFIs. She previously worked with Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers across East and South Africa, leading business transformation and international development assignments.

Amanda’s achievements include advising on the Government of Uganda’s USD1.5 billion economic stimulus package to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Ugandan economy, and structuring and delivering investment readiness technical assistance programs in energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors. 

Her governance experience includes serving in Non-Executive Director roles, and as an investment committee member for an Africa-focused private investment fund with investments across 15 African countries, and as an advisory council member for the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda USD10million small business catalytic program co-funded with Mastercard Foundation. Amanda also advised on and supported the set-up of the Financial Sector Deepening Deal Flow Facility, a technical assistance platform which seeks to democratise access to growth capital for Ugandan SMEs.

She holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, training in gender lens investments by Swedfund, certification in company governance and direction by the UK Institute of Directors, and certifications in project management and business analysis. She is particularly passionate about supporting East African businesses to grow into market leaders and efforts to enable the empowerment of youth and women.
