William Samoei Arap Ruto had today been declared the 5th Kenyan President after a hotly contested election. He had stood on the UDA ticket.
Ruto was neck to neck with Raila Odinga – who was contesting for the fifth time. According to the Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Ruto beat his rival Odinga after garnering 50.49% of the vote.
