Deedan and Yvonne join Salvador who has been running the show, nearly for three months in what promises to be an airwaves smasher.
In an interview with CEO East Africa, Roger Mugisha who recently joined the station as its new Programming Director, said that the relaunch of the show, is part of a host of game-changing initiatives, all targetted at conquering the English radio airwaves in Kampala and beyond.
“My assignment is clearly stipulated. Make Sanyu FM the No.1 English station in Kampala and beyond,” Mr. Mugisha told this reporter in a WhatsApp chat.
A Geopoll Uganda Media Measurement Report, Q1 2019 on Kampala Radio Breakfast shows placed Sanyu FM breakfast show among the top five best performing shows. The Drive, Sanyu Fm’s evening show was rated No.3 amongst the top 7 English drive shows.
Below are the profiles of the highly awaited Salvador, Deedan and Yvonne, the trio that will be rocking the morning airwaves.
Patrick Idringi aka “Salvado”
He is a father of two and raised in Kampala. Despite the uneasy upbringing and challenges along the way, Salvado turned out to be one of the most sought-after Comedians and MCs on the continent.
He attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Makerere University in Uganda.
In 2009, Salvador took part in a reality comedy competition by Multichoice Africa dubbed ‘Standup Uganda and emerged second. This was the beginning of Salvado’s amazing career that saw him Co-found a Standup Comedy group in the country that was disbanded in 2012 as individual members went solo.
In 2011, he joined 91.3. Capital FM doing the Overdrive show that won a number of accolades during his time there accompanied by a number of MC Corporate gigs.
He later decided to fully concentrate on his ever increasing comedy shows in the country that saw him perform locally with fellow comedians Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo, Alex Muhangi, Daniel Omara, Anne Kansiime and many others and Internationally, hosting mega concerts of international artists like Sean Paul, Alain, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Busy Signal, Shaggy and so many others.
The humorous man has performed all over the World especially on the continent of Africa becoming the first East African comedian to ever perform at the Apollo theatre in Hammersmith – London in 2015 and 2016 at Basketmouth’s Uncensored Comedy show, his performances made him a people’s favorite making him host of the same show at the SSE Arena, Wembley in 2017 and the closing act in Lords of the Ribs Comedy show at the SSE Arena, Wembley in 2018.
In 2015, Salvado became the first Ugandan comedian to do a one-man comedy special that saw him win the best Male comedian award at the Uganda Entertainment award, He has gone from strength to strength being the most consistently nominated Best Male comedian in the various award ceremonies in the country.
Diana Deedan Muyira aka Deedan

She later moved to Uganda for A level and to learn more about her culture. After her A-Level studies, she returned to Nairobi and joined USIU for further education and studied International Business minoring in Marketing.
The witty and husky deep-voiced Deedan got her first opportunity to be on radio on Radiocity 97fm in 2013 after a long hustle and odd jobs that took her back and forth to Tanzania and Uganda accompanied with several interviews.
Deedan’s powerful voice then opened doors for her as an MC in Uganda, with her 1st major event being Blankets and Wine in 2014. She was seen on stage and this granted opportunities for other events both Corporate and non-Corporate events.
After a year on radio, she gave acting a try. She auditioned and got a role in the Nominated series Beneath The Lies in 2014 by Savannah Moon Production. She also got a role in a Movie made by Belgians-Papi in 2015. She was cast as a supporting cast in a series ‘Reflections’ in Uganda. In 2017, she also hosted a Tv breakfast show on Urban Television.
Because of her work, Deedan has taken on Brand collaborations and brand influencing as part of her duties. She was a brand ambassador for Red Card, a campaign against drunk driving, a social media influencer for Shell, Glitz by Nalu boutique and others.
The energetic, open-minded Deedan now finally joins Sanyu FM as a host for the Breakfast club with Colleagues Salvador Idringi and Yvonne Koreta airing from Monday to Friday.
Yvonne Koreta
Radio Mogul Yvonne Koreta has been working as deputy station controller at Next Radio based in Kamwokya until recently.
Ms Koreta is no stranger to on-air work in Uganda; she comes with vast radio operation and presentation knowledge where she has earned her radio fame.
The fiery and yet engaging Koreta has worked on several radio programmes on a number of FM stations. She first joined Sanyu FM in 2004 and later joined Radio One, after which she worked at the-then Vision Voice – now XFM. She later rejoined Radio One.
Koreta hopes to bring effective tangible solutions to the listeners’ concerns and insightful conversations for the hearing pleasure of the listener.
