Tax and Legal expert, Patronella Namubiru has been promoted to Partner at Deloitte Africa, effective 1st January 2025.
Namubiru has been serving as Deloitte’s Associate Director in East Africa responsible for tax and legal matters in Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. She also featured among the CEO Magazine’s top 100 oil and gas leaders this year.
Ms. Itireleng Kubeka, Managing Director, Tax and Legal at Deloitte Africa based in Johannesburg took to her LinkedIn to congratulate Namubiru for the promotion, noting that her outstanding contributions to Deloitte’s Tax and Legal practice in East Africa has been essential to the company’s achievements.

Namubiru joined Deloitte in December 2004 and started out in the Nairobi office before returning to Kampala in January 2006. In October 2008 she was seconded to the Nairobi office for eighteen months. At the time of leaving Kenya, she was an Assistant Manager under the Transaction Advisory and International tax service lines. She has since been on secondment in Rwanda/ Burundi and handles overall tax matters for clients.
Namubiru’s tax experience covers corporation tax compliance, transfer pricing, customs, tax structuring and due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions transactions and reorganizations across a number of industrie
She’s also involved in income tax and VAT compliance, due diligence reviews, transaction advisory work, international taxation and dispute resolution with revenue authorities as well as being involved in lobbying and development of technical papers.
Her experience has been valuable in facilitation and training for Deloitte, clients in different industries and Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda on taxation matters.
Namubiru holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Law Development Center and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), Makerere University.
