PROGRAMME: Customised Total Senior Management Development Programme (Total SMDP)
The role of Head of Supply & Petroleum Affairs at TotalEnergies Marketing Uganda, one of the country’s leading energy companies, is a critical role.
One of Hosea A. Nkojo’s responsibilities is helping the company to manage supply chain requirements so that business owners, who are a key facet to winning the route-to-market game, have the peace to focus on sales and growth.
He, however, is also passionate about developing people, partnerships, and performance, which has along his career allowed him to take on other roles such as team lead for health & safety, operations, and sales before his current role.
But for Hosea to be able to execute his job of keeping TotalEnergies’ key people focused, he too must remain focused- and this is where the customised Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) for TotalEnergies by Strathmore University Business School (SBS) came in handy.
And indeed he attributes his progress thus far, to his ability and willingness to learn and relearn, and advises especially the young and upcoming professionals to “let go of what you cannot keep so as to gain what you cannot lose”.
“This will be achieved through learning something new. Learning is endless and my experience in the recently concluded leadership academy with Strathmore Business School gave me a wealth of insights on how to make this journey worth it,” he says.
“Be focused and seize new workplace opportunities for therein growth and reward are assured,” he reiterates, adding: “In a decade-long experience in oil & gas, there have been many opportunities and obstacles, but I’ve learnt to focus on favouring growth over goals. Looking back, I attribute my achievements to having the courage to seize opportunities and being flexible and patient.”
