Housing Finance Bank has recruited Seva Mendera Wamara as its Marketing Manager, effective 1st March 2024.
Seva is a marketing communications professional with over 5 years of experience. She describes herself as “passionate about cultivating marketing strategies that build strong brands and contribute towards business growth”.
Her key skills include corporate communications, marketing strategy development, content creation, project management, market research and data analysis.
Seva has previously been the Marketing and Communications Project Manager for Wendi – PostBank’s mobile wallet. She played a pivotal role in the development and rollout of Wendi, a robust e-money platform that is a centrepiece in the bank’s financial inclusion agenda. The platform is a partnership between the three government banks: PostBank, Housing Finance and Pride Microfinance. Thanks to its successful launch and market rollout, in just four months after its launch, Wendi has enrolled and served more than 4,700 Saccos and facilitated over UGX200 billion in payments.
In its debut year, Wendi won the Best Customer Experience Programme Award at the 2023 Silverback Awards – Uganda’s leading recognition platform for excellence, innovation, and impact in the marketing, advertising and communications industry. It also won the Banking Innovation Excellence (2023) award at the Digital Impact Awards Africa.
Before that, Seva was the Communications Officer at PostBank Uganda. One of her key highlights at PostBank includes being a key player in the marketing and communications team that has transformed the bank’s visibility, reputation and brand equity over the last 3 years.
Before PostBank, she worked with Fireworks Advertising where she executed various marketing and communications strategies for clients in diverse sectors such as entertainment, banking, FMCG, and beverage. Some of these clients include MultiChoice Uganda, African Queen No. 1 Distributors, Pepsi, Centenary Bank and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD).
In her new role as Marketing Manager, Seva hopes to utilize her marketing communications expertise to enhance Housing Finance Bank’s purpose as a market leader in consumer & business banking as well as positioning it as the bank of choice for affordable housing finance in Uganda.
Seva is a graduate of Journalism and Communications from Makerere University and is currently pursuing a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) from the Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
She is a member of the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) and the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS).
