Q&A: PostBank’s Kakeeto on becoming a Tier 1 bank and scaling the MSMEs and agriculture proposition Julius Kakeeto joined PostBank in October 2019 as Managing Director/CEO from Orient Bank where he was Managing Director / CEO, pledging to use his nearly two decades of finance and banking experience to transform the customer experience at the then tier-two financial institution. This would involve a lot of things, including attracting the right people to the bank and capacity building for the existing people; improving governance and risk management as well as investing in the right technologies. Done well, this would climax into the most coveted crown- acquiring a license to operate as a tier-one commercial bank. In just two years, alone, Post Bank was granted a license to operate as a tier-one commercial bank.
