PRODUCT REVIEW: Here Are The 10 Things You Need To Know About Absa’s Newly Launched Cardless ATM Withdrawal Solution Absa Bank Uganda has introduced a cardless withdrawal function on their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). With this functionality, Absa customers who use the Absa Mobile Banking App can now scan a QR code on the ATMS to initiate cash withdrawals without the need to have their ATM cards physically present. With this new development, customers need not be cash-strapped if they have left their ATM cards at home.

Here are the key 10 things you need to know about this industry-first from Absa.

1. First of all, to enjoy the extreme convenience, you have to be an Absa Bank customer. You must have downloaded and installed the Absa Banking App on your phone.
2. Absa’s cardless ATMs allow users to access their cash without a physical debit card. All a user needs to do is log in to the Absa Banking app on their smartphone. While in the app, the customer selects the ATM QR Cash icon, then scans the QR Code on the ATM. Once the scan is done, the customer’s phone will present options of the amount of cash to be withdrawn, and once confirmed, they can collect their cash from the machine.  
3. The function is quick and easy to use. While in Absa Banking App, the customer selects the ATM QR Cash icon, then scans the QR Code on the ATM. Once the scan is done, the customer’s phone will present options of the amount of cash to be withdrawn, and once confirmed, the ATM dispenses the cash.
4. 5. Other Absa contactless digital solutions include the contactless functionality on the bank’s vertical debit cards, the Novo FX mobile application and the AI-powered Abby WhatsApp chatbot.
6. Especially during these times of the pandemic, the solution minimizes the risk of transmission by reducing the frequency of contact with the ATM screen and keypads. 
7. This solution is safer and more secure as it prevents the risk associated with the compromisation of ATM pins and card skimming at tampered ATMs.
