PostBank Uganda forms new board— Andrew Owiny to chair the government-owned lender’s quest to consolidate leadership in financial inclusion Over the last two years, PostBank Uganda, the Government of Uganda 100% owned tier 2 lender has been undergoing a lot of transformation- from people to products and processes. The process started with the 2019 appointment of Julius Kakeeto, a consummate banker with a rich private sector banking experience to head the bank. Following his appointment, the bank has attracted significant talent from the private sector, to head various key roles within PostBank. To crown it all, this January, the Ministry of Finance, fully constituted the board, appointing Andrew Otengo Owiny, to head the bank’s board, as it charts its path to becoming Uganda’s market leader in financial inclusion.
