Philip Odera is the new Letshego Group Chairman. He replaces Enos Banda who resigned recently.
“It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the new Group Board Chairman at Letshego Holdings Ltd- Mr. Philip Odera. He will be replacing Enos Banda, who was Chairman since 2016,” said Letshego’s management in an official a statement on twitter this morning of Friday 1st July, 2022.
The incoming Chairman has also been described by his new team at Letshego, as a seasoned banker, with 30 years’ experience in leadership development and strategy implementation.
“Following Enos’ departure, we wish to welcome Philip Odera as our new Group Chairman,” reads an excerpt from a Letshego Uganda communication.
Philip has been a valued independent and Non-Executive Board Member for the last two years, and brings over three decades of pan-african financial and banking experience, as well as insight from serving on leading listed companies in Africa.
The management of Letshego have indicated that given his vast experience, Philip is an ideal candidate to chair their pan-African business and steer Letshego into its next phase of business impact.
Letshego is a financial services solutions entity with headquarters in Botswana and has a footprint in 11 African countries.
Phillip is an alumnus of Babson F.W Olin Graduate School of Business.
Odera is an experienced banker with over 3 decades of leadership experience.
He has vast banking and executive leadership experience having started out as a Chief Executive at Stanbic Bank in January of 2015 until August 2018 after the 3 years and eight months at Stanbic Bank, Philip landed another job as Executive Partner at Titans D’Afrique which slot he occupied for 3 and a half years of his career in Nairobi, this lasted between January 2018 until May 2021.
He has worked at Standard Bank and other related financial institutions for a total of over 22 years from 2000 until June 2022.
Odera also serves as the Managing Director of Marr Consult since June 2021 this is his own corporation that is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
His Linkedin profile also reveals his career achievements that include; Advisory Board Chairman of SNBX-The Village Experts this too, is based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has served in this role since May 2021 until now.
Prior to this, Odera has another Board member executive position as Chairman of Liberty Kenya Holdings Ltd.
Which is a full time occupation, that has lasted for close to 5 years of his banking career having started this position in January 2018.
