Stanbic Bank Uganda has announced the appointment of Paul Muganwa as an Executive Director on its Board, in addition to his existing role as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). This announcement was made following regulatory approval received on March 26, 2025.
Muganwa, who has nearly two decades of experience in banking across Uganda and South Africa, has been instrumental in driving significant growth in Stanbic Bank Uganda’s Corporate & Investment Banking franchise over the past three years. His strategic leadership has notably strengthened the bank’s competitive position in the market.
Damoni Kitabire, Chairman of the Board, expressed confidence in Muganwa’s appointment, highlighting that it aligns with Stanbic Bank Uganda’s commitment to robust leadership and effective succession planning. “Paul’s wealth of experience, coupled with his outstanding performance and strategic vision, will sustain our leadership position in corporate and investment banking,” Kitabire said.
Chief Executive Mumba Kenneth Kalifungwa also welcomed the appointment, stating, “Paul’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for Stanbic Bank Uganda. His deep expertise, particularly in corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking, positions us to continue delivering innovative solutions for our clients.”
This strategic appointment enhances the bank’s executive team, underscoring Stanbic’s dedication to nurturing a strong succession talent pool at the executive level.
