Meet Greystone Advocates- a mid-sized full-service corporate and commercial law firm banking on innovation, expertise and personalised touch to win clients’ hearts This month, CEO East Africa Magazine, broke a story that two renowned former Justices- Wilson Kwesiga, who until 2021 was the Head of the High Court Criminal Division and Hon. Justice David Kutosi Wangutusi, who also in 2021, retired as the Head of the Commercial Division of the High Court of Uganda had joined private legal practice at Greystone Advocates. The move must have come as a surprise given that the highly respected former members of the bench chose Greystone, a relatively young and midsized law firm instead of the usual big-name law firms. Explaining their decision, Hon. Justice Kwesiga (Rtd), said that other than “Greystone Advocates’’ purpose and mission, as well as innovative methods of work” matching their (justices’) own ethos, the two Justices had been impressed by some of the law firm’s partners’ “decency, presentation, and reliability” as observed in the courtroom while the Justices were still on the bench and gotten from other sources whilst the Justices carried out their own pre-commitment due diligence on the firm.
