The former minister and agriculturalist replaces Justine Bagyenda as board chairperson at the agency that serves to support business start-ups.
Former minister Wilberforce Kisamba-Mugerwa has been appointed as the chairperson of the board of directors of Microfinance Support Centre.
Dr Mugerwa, who replaces outgoing Bank of Uganda director for supervision Justine Bagyenda, was inaugurated at a low key ceremony held at MSC new offices in Nakasero last week.
He will serve for a three-year renewable term.
In his acceptance speech, Mugerwa said that he will take advantage of the government’s political will to support women and youths, as well as the mushrooming savings cooperatives at his disposal to stir development at MSC.
