Kampala Parents School, one of Uganda’s best providers of holistic education has announced that admissions for 2020 shall open on Saturday, 19th October, 2019, starting at 08:00am.

Early birders on that day, till 19th November 2019, shall enjoy an 80% discount on admission fees- instead of UGX500,000, they will pay UGX100,000.

Outside that, according to a circular sent by Mr Rajiv Ruparelia, the Managing Director of Ruparelia Group, the proprietors of the school, parents with children already in the school, shall enjoy a 50% discount on admission fees for every new child and will therefore pay UGX250,000 admission fee.  

First-time parents registering two children, shall be offered a 40% discount on the total admission fee, hence paying UGX600,000 for both children instead of UGX1,000,000 while those registering three children are to be offered a discount of 50% on the total admission, hence paying UGX750,000 for the three children instead of UGX1,500,000.

The Ruparelia Group recently invested $7 million into a facelift and expansion exercise that saw the building of 35 new classrooms, creating a total of 110 classrooms at the school. Two (2) state of the art libraries, 2 ICT rooms, 2 science labs, 2 home science labs, 1 media room, 1 stitching room, 1 music room, 1 drama room and a 2,000-seater multipurpose hall to double both as the dining hall and recreation centre were also built. The school now has an installed capacity for 3,000 pupils in the upper primary school section and 700 kids in the kindergarten and day care sections.  The school admits pupils from 2 years (pre-primary) up to Primary 7.

New Parents with more than three children are be offered a 60% discount on the total admission fee.  

In an email to CEO East Africa Magazine, Mr Rajiv said that the special concessions are to allow “convenience and affordability for parents”, both old and new with more than one child.

“Because of both the good performance and a holistic education offered at Kampala Parents, we know that sometimes parents have to make the difficult choice of bringing only children in upper primary to us while leaving those in lower classes in other schools- which is of course inconveniencing. This offer is to allow parents, enjoy uniform education for their children, as well as the convenience and affordability of educating their children in the same world-class school,” he said.

With 100% pupils in first grade, Kampala Parents’ performance was more than 3 times above the average first grade performance for all Kampala schools- where out of 29,439 pupils, only 8,622 passed in first grade, representing a 29.6%.   

Nationally, out of the candidates who passed, 77,133 (11.8%) passed in first grade, 270,000 (41.2%) in second grade, 140,000 (21.4%) in third grade while 107,398 (16.4%) were in fourth grade.
