Susan Nanyange Mataka, formerly with power utility Umeme Limited, has joined Kakira Sugar Works Limited as Head of Human Resource.
She is an experienced Human Resource Leader skilled in strategy and leadership through uncertainty, HR policies, Job Evaluation, Performance management, and learning and development. A mentor of Girls for Girls project, passionate for growing young ladies to be the best versions of themselves.
At Umeme, Susan was Human Resources Business Partner, a position she has held since April 2017. She previously worked as HR Service Delivery Manager from June 2014 to March 2017.
Before that, she was Senior HR Manager from September 2013 to May 2014 at National Water & Sewerage Corporation in charge of Sewerage Services, and as Learning and Development Manager from June 2006 to August 2013.
Mataka also served as a part time Lecturer for Human Resource Management at Makerere University Business School, Nakawa from September 2009 to July 2011 and Kampala International University as a Lecturer and Deputy Director HR and Administration from 2005 to May 2006.
Susan has served the Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda HRMAU from 2012 to 2016 as a committee member and Director Programs. She represented the Association at the 8th HR East Africa Summit in Zanzibar and the 5th HR Africa summit Cape town, 2012.
Susan holds a Masters of Arts in Human Resource and Industrial Relations Management from Keele University, a diploma in French Language, -Diploma-Executive Management Trainer from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands, certified facilitator DDI, a certified member of society of Human Resource Management, and BA, Business Administration & Management from Uganda Martyrs’ University Nkozi.
