INVESTIGATION: Uganda Telecom takeover deal brews bitter fight between ICT Ministry and NITA-U officials

Despite presidential directives and a subsequent MoU between the government and Rowad Capital Commercial LLC (RCC), there are last-minute efforts by MOICT Minister, Chris Baryomunsi (left) and the NITA-U Executive Director, Dr. Hatwib Mugasa (right) to hoard some NITA-U assets from the deal. This has caused some friction between NITA-U and the MoICT & NG Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aminah Zawedde who insists the Presidential orders must be observed to the letter.
