From A Bank Teller To CFO Of Stanbic, Uganda’s Largest Bank⏤ Tracing Ronald Makata’s Story Ronald Makata was recently appointed by Stanbic Bank Uganda as the Chief Finance and Value Management Officer. Having joined Uganda’s largest lender by assets, customer deposits and revenue, a decade ago, as a manager of financial reporting, Makata has been on a rising curve, starting as a teller in the Barclays Bank, back in 2004, to, years later, serving in different roles including Financial Controller, products development, and innovation and most recently, treasury and Capital management head. Makata recently spoke to CEO East Africa’s Kyamutetera Muhereza, tracing his journey to CFO, excerpts.
