Dr. Ezra Muhumuza Rubanda was appointed to run the affairs of the Uganda Manufacturers Association and oversee the secretariat’s activities.
UMA, is a membership-based organisation representing small, medium and large manufacturers in every business sector of the economy. With about 1500 members, the UMA is an influential voice of the manufacturing fraternity and the leading advocate for a policy agenda that helps manufacturers compete in the regional and global economy.
Dr. Muhumuza is a renowned economist who has served in various capacities under the Office of the Prime Minister; the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) and the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce.
He holds a PhD in Energy Economics and a Master of Economic Policy Development and Science in Development Economics.
“His knowledge and experience in economic policy will be harnessed to promote the competitiveness of manufacturers within Uganda, regionally and internationally,” a statement from the Association reads.
Dr. Muhumuza succeeds Mr. Daniel Birungi who, after his five-year tenure embarked on furthering his studies abroad.
