Sanlam Head of Marketing & Channel Development- East Africa Donato Laboke has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja as a non-Executive Director.
“We, at Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja, welcome this energy and enthusiasm to constantly find new ways to improve and we are very excited to have Donato Laboke as a new member of our Board of Directors,” the organisation’s management said in a statement.
Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja is a non-profit, inter-faith organisation aimed at providing palliative care in the Busoga Region and Buikwe District in Uganda.
Laboke is a highly accomplished marketing and strategic management professional with a breadth of experience in vast market sectors, who has a proven track record as a leader in his industry. Laboke brings an innovative approach and zeal to every role he has worked in; he does not believe in limitations of industries when it comes to business leadership and breaking the norms to help businesses break boundaries and tap into their growth potentials in the short and long term, which has helped him to turn businesses around and make them more sustainable and rewarding to their stakeholders.
With over 13 years work experience, Laboke is currently the Sanlam Head of Marketing & Channel Development- East Africa. Previously worked as the General Manager- Marketing & Brand at Sanlam General Insurance Uganda, Marketing & Strategy Manager at Lion Assurance Company, Head of Client Service & Account management at Fireworks Advertising Uganda, Account Executive at ZK Advertising Uganda. He is also a Business Coach at EMAS Business School (Russia) MBA- Strategic Management program, an academic facilitator at the Insurance Training College (ITC) Uganda, a Non-Executive Director at Mount of Olives College Kakiri. A commission member at Federation of International Motorsport (FIM) Africa, Past President Uganda Bikers Association- a charity non-profit motorcycle riders association 2010/19. Served as a member of the Publicity, Education and Training Committee at Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) 2014/16 and was profiled in The New Vision newspaper – Top 40 Men Under 40 vol. 2016.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK), has a Professional Diploma in Marketing from CIM-UK, Executive Leadership Development- University of Stellenbosch Business School (South Africa), Master of Business Administration (MBA) at EMAS Business School (Russia), holds a Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Business Management from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA- Strategic Management) at EMAS Business School.
