The Uganda Society of Architects has expressed joy towards their fellow professional Daniel Musana who has been elected Deputy President of African Union of Architects.
This election will see him in leadership of the African Union of Architects (AUA) council with effect from this year 2022 until his term in office expires in 2025.
Daniel Musana was elected alongside other Architectural professionals from various African countries which include the following;
“The Uganda society of Architects wishes to congratulate the newly elected members of the African Union of Architects (AUA) Council (2022-2025),” reads an excerpt from a graphic illustration on their twitter page which is @UgArchSociety.
The list includes; President – Donatien Kasseyet Kalume from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
The Secretary General from Mauritius is Vinesh Chintaram
While the Treasurer is Nigeria’s Olanrewaju Lanre Olusola
The 5 African Vice Presidents come from five different sub regions of the continent and these include;
North – is represented by Morocco’s Chakib Benabdellah, Southern Africa is represented by Architectural Vice President Sydney Ngoma from Zambia.
While East Africa as a sub-continent is represented by Uganda’s Daniel Musana as its Architectural Vice President. He will be in charge of entire East African region which covers the geographical territory of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and Tanzania.
The other two regions West and Central Africa are both represented by one Architect at this international level.
Narcisse Justin Soglo from Benin is the West Africa VP.
While the Vice President for Central Africa is Erichk Mauro who is a citizen of Gabon.

The Uganda Society of Architects represents the architectural profession in Uganda.
One of the aims is to organize and unite architects in Uganda and to foster and strengthen friendly, intellectual, artistic, cultural, educational and scientific ties among architects and architectural fraternity.
Their partners include the following; Knight Frank, Housing Finance Bank, Habitat for Humanity, National Housing and Construction Corporation and Knight Construction among others.
Daniel Musana is a member of the Uganda Society of Architects which is located on kalamu House, on 1st Floor wing A Plot 1B, Kira Road.
Architect Musana is the Director at Pan Modern Consult Ltd.
The society’s vision is; “To advance excellence in design and professional practice for a sustainable built environment.”
The Uganda Society of Architects subscribes to other regional and international bodies like the East African Institute of Architects, Africa Union of Architects, International Union of Architects and Commonwealth Association of Architects. The two directing organs of Society are the Council (led by the President) and the Annual General Meeting. The operational organs of the council are the Secretariat, Chapters, Boards, Committees and any other organs that may be created by the Annual General Meeting.
The society has over 450 successfully completed projects, with a membership of over 100 Architects located around the globe the organization boasts of 25 years of experience in the industry.
They recently celebrated the happy world Architecture day.
One of the society’s goals is to “protect the rights, status, interests and general welfare of architects,” says a statement off their website.
Another major aim of their existence is to foster and maintain public confidence I the integrity and ability of architects.
In accordance with Section 14(1) to 14(4) of the Uganda Architects Registration Act Cap 269, Mr. Musana Daniel is authorized to practice architecture in Uganda and is recognized by the ARCHITECTS REGISTRATION BOARD as the Registered and Practicing Architect.
