Airtel Uganda appoints Dennis Kahindi as Director, Broadband and Post Paid Services

Airtel Uganda has picked on Dennis Kahindi, the former Chief Executive Officer, of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda, to lead its newly formed  Broadband and Post Paid Services unit, our sources at the telco, can exclusively reveal.

This is as the telco gets ready to roll out its 5G network. In February 2023, Airtel Uganda successfully tested 11 of its Kampala towers in the Industrial Area, Garden City Area, Upper Kololo, Clement Hill, Hannington Road, Lower Airstrip Kololo and Wampewo Avenue and declared they were ready for 5G.  

Dennis has been the  Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Uganda since March 2019.   

He is an accomplished business leader with 15+ years of domestic and international experience, most of it in sales and business development and associated team leadership in the technology and communications space. Before joining Liquid Intelligent Technologies, he worked with entities such as Microsoft Inc, Eaton Towers Uganda, Huawei Technology International and Oracle Corporation. 

At Oracle, he was the  Territory Sales Manager – Rwanda, between December 2016 and February 2019.  Between July 2013  and November 2016, he was the East and Southern Africa EPG Manager at Microsoft for Uganda and Rwanda. Before that, between April 2012 and July 2013, he was the Sales Manager for Eaton Towers. In that role, he was the leader and  Manager of all Business Development activities for Eaton Towers with mobile operators, with a specific focus on Ugandan operations.

Between March 2011 and April 2012, he was the Corporate Sales Manager for Orange Uganda Limited and between January 2008 and February 2011, he was the Key Accounts Manager for Huawei Technologies Company Limited.  

A graduate of Makerere University (Mass Communication), Dennis also holds an MBA from the United States International University-Africa and well as a Sales Management certification from the Mercuri International Business School. 

On his LinkedIn page, Dennis describes himself as a leader who “helps people be great competitors” and “teaches them how to persevere and unleash their passion”.

“I enjoy building great products and companies and being a servant-leader of great teams. I also advise and mentor businesses and individuals on topics of strategy, data-driven decision-making, Sales, product marketing, leadership, and career development,” he says.

“My experience in leadership roles at companies like Huawei Uganda, Orange, Microsoft and Oracle taught me how to transform workplace cultures and motivate work forces even while navigating the most challenging dynamics. I do this through transparency, communication, honesty, and taking care of my employees. I believe that true leadership is doing the right thing at the right time, no matter how difficult,” he adds.
