Sandra Arinaitwe, the new Communications and Advocacy Adviser for Marie Stopes International

Marie Stopes International (MSI), the leading provider of reproductive health and family planning services in Uganda, has pulled off a bold and loud move by acquiring the services of Rocket Health’s Marketing Manager Sandra Arinaitwe who is joining its Communication and Policy docket as the Communications and Advocacy Adviser.

Sandra is joining Marie Stopes International with vast experience in healthcare communication and social marketing through her work with Rocket Health and The Medical Concierge Group. For her excellent skills in creating unique and fulfilling experiences for customers, Sandra was recognised and awarded Customer Excellence Champion at the 2021 Pearl of Africa Customer Excellence Awards. She was shortlisted for the 2021 Global Women in Marketing Award in London and also featured among 50 Uganda’s Most Accomplished People in Marketing.

‘’It has been such a fulfilling experience working with the team at Rocket Health to build a million dollar brand that I am very confident to say has the happiest (or most satisfied) customers in this country,’’ Sandra Arinaitwe said when asked about leaving Rocket Health.

Sandra, who is also the Vice President of the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), will lead the development and implementation of the MSI communications and advocacy strategy, initiate opportunities to promote MSI’s diversified products and services, and help to establish public and private partnership models that will see MSI transition toward a national SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) ownership.

MSI operates a network of 15 centres and 30 mobile outreach teams across Uganda through which they deliver a full range of contraceptive methods and sexual reproductive health advice. The organisation has Uganda’s longest-running social marketing program of health products which are marketed and distributed to private providers and pharmacies.

Sandra brings 5 years of experience in marketing communications and public relations. Prior to joining Rocket Health, she worked at Knight Frank Uganda as the Digital and Communications Officer – overseeing external, internal, and digital communications for Knight Frank and its retail portfolio. Sandra also spent 5 years at Vision Group where she worked as a Journalist, Programs Editor and Producer for Urban Tv and later as an Advertising Executive.
