Stanbic Bank Uganda has announced 70 scholarships for young income households in Eastern Uganda, to undertake vocational training courses at Busitema University.
The Scholarship fund will benefit at least 70 young people who will undergo a six-month vocational skills training in areas of their interest, including robotics, irrigation technologies, automotive repairs, post-harvest handling and processing technologies, welding and metal fabrication, brick laying and concrete practice, among others.

The Bank recognises the importance of vocational training in increasing chances of employability of many young people and gain the much-needed future skills that will contribute the growth of our economy and boost their long-term professional careers,” Cathy Adengo, Head Sustainability, Stanbic Bank Uganda.
Application conditions
The scholarship programme is open to young people, especially those currently unemployed and hailing from districts of Busia, Pallisa, Tororo, Soroti, Mbale and Kamuli in Eastern Uganda the surrounding areas close to the Busitema University Campus locations.
They must be nationals who have at least completed senior four and obtained the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and not older than 35 years age at the time of applying.
“To ensure that the scholarship opportunity benefits the most deserving youth-candidates are required to have endorsement from their local leadership and those already enrolled in other scholarship programmes will not be considered for this opportunity.”
Application forms can be picked from and returned to Busitema Campus (Busia), Busitema University Liaison Office (Makerere University, Lincoln Flats, Room A2), Arapai Campus in Soroti, Namasagali Campus in Kamuli, Nagongera Campus in Tororo, Paliisa Campus (at Kalaki) in Pallisa, Mbale Campus (Mbale Regional Referral Hospital) and LCV Office.
“The scholarships will pay the fees required by the University excluding accommodation,” revealed Dr. Gimaguni Lillian Nabaasa, the University Academic Registrar.
The scholarship is in the following areas:
- Welding and Metal Part Fabrication,
- Post-harvest Handling & Processing Technologies,
- Irrigation Technologies & Innovations
- Automotive Repair, Operation & Maintenance 5. Brick Laying and Concrete Practice,
The scholarship is open to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Must be hailing from the following districts: Busan, Pallisa, Toror, Soroti, Mbale and Kannili.
- Have completed at least Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
- Should be a Ugandan of not use than 35 years old. iv) should not hold any other scholarship
- Ensure that the form is endorsed by the LCV Chairperson of the targeted District before submission. NOTE: Females and people living with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply You are advised against submitting false information or forged documentations

The filled form and the attachments should be submitted to the centers in (D) above or scan and send to the Academic Registrar Busitema University e-mails: aridocadies.busitema.nsag or arbusitemad hotmail.com
Attach the payment receipt (E) The deadline: The filled forms should reach the respective campuses not later than Friday, 29 July, 2022 at 5:00pm. An application fee of Ugx.50,000 will be paid.
Applicants are required to attach their senior four certificate, a birth certificate, a recent passport photo and an application fee (Ugx50, 000) receipt-payable to the Busitema University Fund Account No. 3100070359 by July 29, 2022.
