Ugandan consumers are becoming more tech savvy and health conscious while picking consumable brands. According to Superbrands East Africa, more people are looking for convenient, convergent and timely products and services. In addition, there is a growing demand for quality across the region.
This emerged during a press briefing held at the Kampala Serena Hotel today where Jawad Jaffer, Superbrands Project Director for East Africa, unveiled Uganda’s top brands.
The top 10 companies for the year 2015/16 included Rwenzori mineral water, Sadolin paints, MTN, Fresh Dairy, MTN Mobile Money, NTV, Serena Hotels and Resorts, Panadol and Coca-cola.
This year, the research incorporated the views of over 1000 consumers surveyed by TNS RMS, a Kenyan research company. Jaffer noted more than 400 brands from over 28 different sectors were considered and consumers had the final say.
“The results provide a detailed and robust barometer of brand success and performance in a competitive environment. It is good to see at least half of the brands among the Top 20 remained competitive to again feature in this year’s results. It is also evident that customers are more health conscious when water bottling and milk processing companies continue to make it to the list,
