Shamim Walusimbi is the first Ugandan, and first female to represent Human Resource (HR) professionals on the board of the Africa Human Resource Confederation (AHRC). 

Shamim is committed to breaking barriers related to diversity and inclusion through her tagline, “Leave No One Behind.” 

In this capacity, she spearheads the engagement of a platform that brings together Presidents of Human Resource Associations across Africa, fostering collaboration and advancing the HR agenda.

As the Board Public Relations Officer of the AHRC, Shamim is an award-winning HR Strategy & Operations professional known for her innovative leadership and mentorship development.

Throughout her career, she has designed and implemented HR management, organizational development strategies, and business policies that drive operational excellence. Her expertise spans HR Programme Management, HR Analytics, Project Management, Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering, and Change Management, with a focus on mindset and behavioral transformation.

Throughout her career, Shamim has led impactful HR initiatives across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Rwanda and parts of Europe. Her experience covers sectors such as energy, banking, manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, and the public sector. Currently, she works as a Global Recruitment Consultant at Aldelia, where she encourages talent development through her core values: Unity, Inclusion, and Productivity.

In 2024, Shamim is set to attend global HR conferences in Singapore, Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, and Kenya to further her expertise, benchmark global HR practices, and bring innovative solutions back to Uganda. This international exposure underscores her commitment to staying at the forefront of HR trends and implementing cutting-edge practices in her home country.

During her tenure on the HR Managers’ Association of Uganda (HRMAU) Governing Council, Shamim championed cross-functional projects, driving membership growth and advocating for the institutionalization of HR through her work on the HR Bill. 

Her leadership at the regional level has further strengthened HR advocacy and capacity building across Africa, making her a pivotal figure in shaping the HR landscape.

A passionate mentor, Shamim plays a key role in initiatives like the Girls for Girls program, empowering women in leadership, and the Purpose-Led Mentorship Programme, a transformative initiative she helped launch to promote behavioral change through mindset shifts. 

These efforts reinforce her dedication and commitment to nurturing future leaders and creating generational impact.
